So I have not posted in forever (yes I'm a self proclaimed slacker) but I wanted to let the world know of all the neat things that have been going on. God is doing some pretty amazing stuff and so often times we forget what, why and when to thank Him.

Well can you believe in a week a 4 days I finish my first full year of Seminary. Who would have thought this year would have flown so fast.

I have to admit there have been times where I wanted it to speed up and other times to stop with the brakes but God is good. For those of you who have ever considered taking a Seminary course or even for those who have not, DO IT. It is not about the grade but there is so much I learn from the amazing wise people that I get to share my classes with.

Work still is crazy but each day I am reminded that children are a gift from God and despite their messes, screams or markered hands they are still His, and they always bring some crazy thoughts to the table.

Craft projects and renovations are coming along. I am excited to announce I had my first Christmas Party and Open house at my house last night and it went great. Thank you to all of those who came out.

Well that is it for me, more finals and essay writing to do in the morning. Make sure you continue to check out because she is way more awesome at posting faster than I am.

New Find!

Ok, so i have a new addiction. For those of you who have never heard of pinterest.com stay away (you will spend hours). For those that you who have, I feel your pain.

This site I have found is great. Not only can it give you creative ideas and projects that you can make with left over items found in your closet or backyard, it can give you encouragement quotes, fun pictures or new look at style. I have found that it is also creating a Christmas list of the things that I "pin" to my board that I like others can go on and see that I like them and get that type of items for me for Christmas. Whoever came up with this idea, lead me to spend my Saturday morning playing with fun ideas and uses for crayons! I will post some pictures but they turned out really well. Yay one Christmas present finished!

Off to more work but I thought I would update the world on my new finds!

School Begin= Fall Approaching

I have come to realize that I am in self denial of both school starting back and fall approaching. This is a flaw that I do not want to fix. With the chaos of summer it was not until mid- August that I felt like I was really getting a summer. This summer has led me to things and in areas that I never thought I would go, meeting people that I never will forget.

As I miss Wilmington each day I am away, I am growing to find a new appreciation for it is not the amount of time that you spend with your friends it is the quality of time and the quality of friends that you possess that really make the difference in how fast your time flies.

As I have still been taking pictures all along the journey of this summer, there is also the realization of living in the moment, that though that moment may be captured on film the emotions that came with the event that initial time will never be relived to its full capacity.

There are still many things yet to be checked off the "bucket list" that is always growing, but it is finding time for yourself, for God and for family that has become more pressing than anything. Learning you get one life, one change to make a first impression, and attempting to make that life leave a legacy for others behind me, in return hoping only to make the world a slight better place than it was when I showed up.

There are still things I question everyday, still things I long for and still things that scare the living daylights out of me, but my God is big, my God is strong and my God is Good, and I am learning to rest in those simple yet ever growing complex truths.

As fall approaches and we head into a new season, it is a time for searching, for pressing forward and not settling but finding contentment in knowing God is the only one that knows our plan, our future. Enjoy the leaves, take time to watch them fall, listen to the ocean and try to turn off your cell phone as often as possible.

God is so Good and life is so sweet, if we just lean on him and attempt to make it that way.

These are just a few pictures of the things I love. For some of you who don't know I have a bucketlist list. This list consists of over 500 things and I try and check one thing off the list each month. One of the pictures in this collage is checking off rafting the Natahala, it was soooo Cold but it was so much fun. My recommendation for you is not to go rafting in October on a river that is controled by a dam thus always is 59 degress, and with it being mid sixties outside you do not warm up very quickly. :)

New Era of Blogging!

A new era!

Well there are a few things that I would like to show you.
First look at the past few crafts I have been working on. You saw the process of the chairs, now stained and put together they look wonderful!

Beside these wonderful things here are the most recent past few projects. Some of you may have seen but I have not shown off my Coffee Filter wreath. So easy to do and so pretty and simple. It make things more interesting try some spray adhesive or some glue and then shake some glitter on it .. it add for a nice touch!

Then these were the Valentines project we worked on the other night! It is pretty simple. Florist Tape, Tissue paper, q-tip, Scissors, and wire and wa-la! What a cool idea. To get the tissue paper (red to look like this- both red and white) dip one end into bleach but not very far. Let the Bleach soak into the paper then let it dry. Wrap the green around the q-tip and wire with florist tape then layer the tissues but between each layer use the tape.

Real simple... real easy! ... Place them in a bowl of dried berries, and ivy or any other arrangement you would like and creates for a nice pop. Mom did this arrangement and it looks great!

Thanks to my new Word I just finished re-covering my kitchen chairs! It is so neat! They are adorable and I am so proud of them. I just now need to sand, and refinish the chairs and the table. We will see how that goes. I will upload pictures soon!

Re- Focus~

I want to challenge all of you this year to pick one word that describes what you want God to help you do. This concept was shown to me while I was in college and words such as trust and perseverance have with God's help, get me through some crazy times. As you know our church is in need of your prayer, however it is my prayer that you don't stop praying there. That you will pray for lives that need to be changed, eyes that need to be open and hurting that needs to be healed. I also want you to think about what if God wants you to be the answer to your own prayers?

Below I have written some of my word for this year and how I came about deciding on it. I pray that God will give you wisdom, hope, love and encouragement as this year is going to be hard in multiple ways. Encouraging you I want to leave you with Philippians 2:12-13 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed- not only in my presence but now much more in my absence continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in your to will and to act according to his good purpose!

My One WORD!
This past year and a half has been the craziest of my life. When the ending and graduation of school in 2009, rolling into the working force, quitting my job to being called back to central NC, starting grad school, interning, now a children's minister, while attempting to change grad schools and continue my education, life has been a roller coaster.

It is amazing to see how faithful God has been through each of these changes and how He has used each one to His glory. Here is my problem and thus the word for the new year. With all of these changes and life altering occurrences, my focus has not always been on point.

Working on what had to be done next or getting side tracked with what someone had to have at that moment and not being able to focus on long term. This sometimes was not the greatest mindset to have. I was able to go to Passion Conference this year. Through this God hit me with a ton of bricks, I realized there are so many things that I need to do for Him and not for anyone else and there are so many things I am doing now that do not make a difference at all in eternity.

With this comes the focus or lack there of. I am notorious for moving from project to project without finishing one until much later. This year I want my focus to be on God to delve not just skim his word and to truly listen to what He is trying to tell me! This means first I have to read His word more often then I do, and truly try to understand what He is trying to tell me through it! This with my current mindset I know will not be easy and challenges are not my strong point but I know with God I can do anything.

God turned one of the greatest persecutors of the church into one of his greatest advocates. Just the first word in Philippians alone shows that Paul is writing it not the former Saul, and that God changed Him. It is crazy to think that God uses all His enemies to show His glory, because if you think about it we were all His enemies before we were saved by His grace. God can and will use you!

As my attention, becomes a focus I hope that God grants each of you with a reality of what your word needs to be in your life this year!

NEW YEAR NEW ME!

New Year, New productive me, hopefully! haha Well the Europe Scrap Book is finished! I finished it this morning.

The next thing is I did get many of the lights changed out at the other house, they are plain and silver and just the way I like it!
The next thing is painting the walls, they are becoming a wonderful gray and the entrance way, and below the baseboard a wonderful Teal.

I just got back from this amazing conference called Passion. It reignited my love and Passion for Jesus and I am so excited to be back in the mood and that God is wonderful. There are a few pictures below I am going to add for you to see. It was amazing to see 22000 people coming together to worship Jesus and raising 1.157 million dollars for causes all around the world.

The dog that I mentioned earlier is beautiful! HE witnessed his first snow and it was so much fun! He was bounding around!

Alright so two things on my New Year's resolution list is to use less togo cups. I was looking back over the last year and with as much as I love to travel it is time to take responsibility for that in using less waste. Also I have agreed to think and put 1000 things on my bucketlist! SO that is in process!

Yay for the New year and the hopefully upkeep of the new me!

So the house is still a work in progress and it taking longer than i thought. There are so many pots on the boiler and none of the pots are getting done, which is interesting.

Pictures need to be uploaded but they are not!
So things are just not happening this season and I need to step up my game!

OK so I thought I was going to finish with my Europe Scrapbook pretty soon and come to find out the pictures that I ordered did not get ordered. Slight delay!

The Europe scrap book is almost finished and therefore that is closing on one of the many things that I wanted to get accomplished last month! Lets see after that I hope to make curtains I have to buy 5 light fixtures to update the house and then sew all the curtains. I hope that during my days off during Thanksgiving I will be able to get the painting and the other accomplished! I will upload pictures from them when I can! More later!

So the newest in life is my best friend's little brother just got his Eagle Scout Award and they had a big party it was so much fun! Then today I finished my last test for this semester! I am so excited! The list that I previously posted all is still in the works but it is a bunch a fun! Things are coming together otherwise and we are just taking it one step at a time. My next job is to make two baby blankets and make curtains! We shall see how it goes and I will let you know! More later, lots of thoughts to think upon!

Ok so lately there have been so many things going on in life that I have not taken the time to blog.
With school, work, working on the old house and our own, attempting to finish my May Europe scrapbook, all have become long over due. I hope to begin completing some of these this week.

Our newest addition to the family is absolutely a mess, he still is figuring out the lay of the land and his paws are so huge it is halarious to watch attempt to climb the steps.

At church I have the Fall Carnival coming up where all the kids come and play games. I am beginning to stress over the games the candy and the supplies but somehow I know that it always works out, which is really neat.

The other day we went over to the old house even my grandma and we took up carpet, rug doctered the other carpet and are beginning to make it a suitable place to live.... hehe excited. I am ready to get some different paint on the walls, thanks Katy for giving me that gene and it will begin to look as good as new.

No word on Haiti yet but trusting that God has a plan. More pictures to post soon of the new look to the old house, the dog, family and what not. I am going rafting next week with a friend who has never been so adventures will be there as well. I will talk more soon! Lots of Love

FUN NIGHT

Things are crazy. We just went to the Carolina Reds Premier and it was great. What a fun night to be out with the family and see my cousin do something that he loves. It was the coolest little venue outside of CPCC's Campus right near the hospital and we were able to have fun and just relax. We also went to this crazy French cafe that was so cute. It sits in the heart of NODA and it was fun just to see the pastries and how it is open 24 hrs!
